GLADIATORS HEAD COACH - BILLY NICHOLSON
Entering his 3rd year leading the Gladiators baseball program, Head Coach Billy Nicholson is looking to build on two solid seasons as a startup program. During the 2009-2010 season, he led a very young Gladiators team to an impressive 18-7 record playing a non-region schedule. In just their first season, the 2009 Gladitators were the winner of the Georgia Dugout Club championship. In 2010-2011, the Gladiators participated in their first year of region play competing in Region 7-AAAA sub-region B. Coach Nicholson led a still-young Gladiators team to a solid finish within the region, missing out on a spot in the playoffs via tie breaker criteria. Johns Creek remains in 7-AAAA sub-region "B" for the 2011-2012 season and Coach Nicholson looks to build on the success of the first two seasons. Losing only two starting position players to graduation, the 2011-2012 season promises to be an exciting one as the Gladiators will field their most experienced team to date. Coach Nicholson teaches Health Education at JCHS and is also the head softball coach at Johns Creek. He spends his summers working in the Atlanta Braves Minor League Department. Entering his 9th season with the Braves, his duties include assisting the hitting coach at each level with hitting, coaching first base and various other duties. In his spare time, Coach Nicholson is an avid outdoorsmen enjoying hunting and golf. He is married to Jennifer Johnson Nicholson and has 2 daughters, Ashlee and Halee.

GLADIATORS ASSISTANT COACH - DICK PRINDLE
Coach Prindle also enters his 3rd season with the Gladiators baseball program having been part of the program since Johns Creek opened in 2009. Coach Prindle, most recently of Northview High School, is a veteran coach with experience in a variety of sports including baseball. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina where he was a member of the UNC baseball team earning All-ACC honors his senior year. Coach Prindle was the head coach of the North Springs High School baseball team for 30 years (1972-2002) compiling an impressive 419-297 record during his tenure. He also served as the head softball coach at North Springs for 8 years in addition to coaching in both football and basketball. From 2002-2008, Coach Prindle was an assistant coach at Northview in baseball and in softball. In recognition of his accomplishments, Coach Prindle was inducted into the Georgia Dugout Club Hall of Fame in 2005. Coach Prindle and his wife, Jona Kay, have been married since 1993.

GLADIATORS ASSISTANT COACH - LUKE WARREN
Coach Warren also enters his 3rd season with the Gladiators baseball program having been part of the program since Johns Creek opened in 2009. Coach Warren teaches health and physical education at Johns Creek and is also an assistant coach in the football program.





GLADIATORS ASSISTANT COACH - JIM POOLE
Coach Poole also enters his 3rd season with the Gladiators baseball program having been part of the program since Johns Creek opened in 2009. Coach Poole is a graduate of Georgia Tech and enjoyed a long and successful career in major league baseball playing for the Baltimore Orioles, Cleveland Indians, San Francisco Giants, and the Detroit Tigers. Coach Poole is the Gladiators pitching coach and provides instruction to pitchers on all of the Gladiators teams. Coach Poole and his wife, Kim, have been married for 22 years and have 3 children, Austin, Hayden, and Courtney.



GLADIATORS JV COACH - JAY MERCER
Coach Mercer enters his 3rd season as the head coach of the Gladiators JV team. Prior to coming to Johns Creek, Coach Mercer coached baseball at Northview High School. Coach Mercer is a guidance counselor at Johns Creek and an active advocate for all students.





GLADIATORS ASSISTANT COACH - TED FITHIAN
Coach Fithian has been coaching in the Atlanta for over 20 years. He played collegiate Baseball for “The” Ohio State University before moving to Atlanta in 1985. He has coached at The Wesleyan School for the last 5 years helping them to 3 State Championships. Ted lives in Alpharetta with his wife Jennifer, Son Drew, a junior at Alabama, daughter Jessica, a sophomore at Samford, daughter Marie, a Sophmore at Johns Creek, and daughter Joanna, a future Johns Creek all star.





GLADIATORS 9th GRADE COACH - RON LOULA
Coach Loula will be entering his 3rd year as the 9th grade Coach for Johns Creek High School’s baseball program. He has been an 8th grade science teacher at Taylor Road Middle School for 18 years and has 22 years of coaching experience behind him. Coach Loula currently serves as the Head Coach for the Chattahoochee High School Swim & Dive team, which finished 2nd at the State Championships in 2011 and 2012. He is also the Head Coach of the Milton High School girls junior varsity softball team, accumulating a record of 32 and 5 in his 2 years in that position. Coach Loula has been happily married to his wife, Kelly, for what will be 20 years in June. They have one daughter, Mackenzie, who will graduate from North Gwinnett High School in May and will be attending Georgia State University on a soccer scholarship in the fall.



GLADIATORS 9th GRADE COACH - KEN LUDLOW
Coach Ludlow enters his first year of coaching with the Gladiators baseball program having been an outfielder on the 2001 and 2002 GJCAA regular season champion Young Harris College Mountain Lions. Coach Ludlow is a graduate of Evans High School where he helped lead the Knights to region titles and state playoff appearances in all 4 years as a 3rd baseman and left fielder. Coach Ludlow graduated from the University of West Georgia in 2005 and recently received his Master’s degree from Georgia State University. Coach Ludlow teaches eighth grade Georgia Studies and Language Arts at Autrey Mill Middle School.



GLADIATORS VOLUNTEER ASSISTANT - MATT MCCARTHY
Coach McCarthy is a local product. He was born and raised in Alpharetta, attended Fulton County Schools, and graduated from Chattahoochee High School in 2006. Coach McCarthy was a four year letterman at Chattachoochee where he played shortstop on the baseball team and was a member of the 2005 state championship team. Coach McCarthy received a scholarship to play baseball at Jefferson State Community College in Birmingham, AL. He completed his college education at the University of Georgia, earning a degree in Health and Physical Education. Coach McCarthy is a teacher at The Lionheart School in Alpharetta and he also coaches at the Patriot Baseball Academy.
